Thank You, Jesus- Gabby's Back!

This is a GOOD day in America!

In the midst of all the politics on Capitol Hill and the debt ceiling crisis, this country needs a little bit of good news!

As I watched the news, I had goose-bumps all over! The day I have prayed for almost 7 months came to pass! Gabrielle Giffords has walked back onto the floor of Congress! One week less than 7 months ago, this lady was attacked senselessly and shot in the head. While it was first reported that she had died from the attack, thankfully, she did not!

I started this prayer blog as a way to deal with my emotions with the tragedy.

From the very moment this tragedy was reported, many people put a spin on the story, blaming the Tea Party for the attack.

The man that did this, from all accounts, was actually apolitical. While he had previous contact with Congresswoman Giffords, he was not a politically active person. Politics were not his motivation. Plain and simple, this man was a monster.

ALL blame should be left where it lies- with Jared Loughner.

This is not about politics. This is about a life- a beautiful life that was spared by God Almighty.

Thank You, Jesus, for healing Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Though I am sure she still has a long road of recovery ahead of her, her life is indeed a miracle! Thank You for sparing her life! All glory and honor belong to You, Lord God!

THERE COMES A POINT IN YOUR LIFE

It's been several days since I've blogged here. Life just gets so crazy busy! Sometimes I think that in our modern world with the latest technology we have lost so much. We have things so much easier now, with the latest gadget or tool at our fingertips, yet we have so little time to enjoy the things that truly matter.

I received an email from my brother today that I feel is worth sharing. It's one of those "forwards", yet this one hit a spot in my heart. So tonight, I will dwell on the thoughts from his email.

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'

When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. 

'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'   

There comes a point in your life when you realize:
Who matters,
who never did,
who won't anymore...
And who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn’t make it to your future.
This encompasses a lot of things for me. In fact, for a person that usually has an abundance of words, there are really no other words that I can add.

If you are reading this, I challenge you to think on the words above. You have to get to that point in your life where you realize what truly is important. If you have not gotten to that point yet, I challenge you to make that a goal for 2011.

For me, I most definitely have gotten to the point in my life where I realize who and what is important. In fact, today I had the most beautiful reminder of the important things. If you would like to read that story, you can read it here:  It's The Simple Things In Life

Lord God, though I have not blogged in several days you know that I have continuously prayed for the things that burden my heart.

I pray for Congresswoman Giffords. I pray that You will continue to heal her body, soul, mind and heart. Help her to forgive the man who created this tragedy in her life. Help her to cling to You for comfort, peace and healing. I pray for her husband, Mark Kelly. Keep him safe on his shuttle mission.

I pray for this nation. My heart aches for this nation who has turned her back on You. Lord God, humble her. Bring her back to You. I pray that she will rise up and fall to her knees in repentance before You.

I pray for President Obama. I pray that he will humble himself before You. He and his czars and other members of his administrative team are destroying this nation.

I pray for the nation of Israel who is once again under attack by gunfire and mortar and bombs. Protect her and keep her safe in the shadow of You, Almighty God.

I pray all of these things in the precious, holy Name of Your Son Jesus Christ- Amen.

ONE DAY

"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)


One day, every knee WILL bow, and every tongue WILL confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. For me, it will be the most awaited day of all of my life. To be at the feet of my Jesus, loving Him, honoring Him, praising Him. For others, it will not be such a glorious day. I pray for these people.


I do not believe that these people have long to wait. I am so excited for that! Daily, the news points to that coming day when this scripture will come true:


"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. Oh Glorious Day!

People get ready! Jesus is coming! He is not willing that any should perish!

Lord, every day time grows shorter and shorter. While people have been saying this for thousands of years, and it still may be a long time in our view, we never know when we will breathe our last breath. I pray that You will open blinded eyes and soften hardened hearts.

I continue to pray for Congresswoman Giffords. I read a tweet today saying that she may run for Senate. Nothing has come out officially, but if this is even being discussed then it appears as though things are looking absolutely amazing for her! All glory, honor and praise be to You, Jesus, for the miracle in her life. I also continue to pray that the man that acted out this heinous attack will be given justice. Please do not allow political correctness to prevent justice in this.

I pray for President Obama. Lord, I get so angry! Please help me to not sin in my anger, where it concerns the man that is our president. I continue to pray that he will humble his heart before You, Jesus.

I pray for this nation. I pray that people will wake up and stand up for what is right. I believe many people have, but there are still too many who are complacent.

I pray for the nation of Israel. Protect her and bless her beyond measure.

I praise You for the mighty work You have done in my life. If it were not for my faith in You, I do not believe I would be alive today. Thank You for never giving up on me!

I pray all of these things in the precious Name of my Savior Jesus Christ- Amen.

PRAYING FOR HEALING

This will be another one of those short and sweet posts.

There is so much hurt and pain going on in the world right now. I pray for all of these needs.

I pray for Congresswoman Giffords healing. She has made much progress, and I continue to pray for complete healing.

I pray for the healing of this nation. I know it will take the humbling of this nation for this to even be possible. With God, ALL things are possible!

I pray for healing in Israel. So much pain has come to this beautiful nation. Heal the land of Israel, Lord God, I beg of You!

I pray for healing for the brokenhearted.

I pray for sleep for the insomniacs.

I pray for healing of those who have endured persecution. Lord God, You tell us in Your Word that we will be hated for Your Name Sake. (Luke 21:17) Keep these hurting souls strong in You, Lord God. Love them and protect their hurts though their bodies are attacked.

I pray for healing for the women who have chosen abortion. The lie from Satan is that no one is hurt. This is a deception from the pits of hell! Not only is a life ended by aborting the child, but the emotional pain caused to these women is a deep wound that needs Your healing touch, Lord God.

I pray for our president. He seems to have so much bitterness and anger. Whatever the source of his hatred for the nation he leads comes from, I pray that You will heal him from those hurts. He says that he loves this country, but actions speak louder than words, Lord God.

We all need Your loving touch of healing in our lives.

I pray these things in the precious Name of Jesus- Amen.

YES, THIS COUNTS!

I received an email today that is going to be the topic of today's post. My brother sent me the email, and he had added a note that yes, this was his niece (his wife's sister's daughter). I called him and asked him if he could get their permission to post the picture on my blog entry for today, because I have never seen anything so beautiful in all of my life!

When I talked to my brother after he talked to his brother-in-law, he told me he was surprised to find out that it is not his niece! This is an email that was actually forwarded to his brother-in-law. They are all amazed at how much like this little girl my brother's niece actually looks.

So, I am going to post the picture, as the note at the bottom of the page says to forward to your friends. If the parents of this child sees the picture and would like it to be removed, please let me know. I would never want to offend them in any ways.

DOES THIS COUNT?

Yes, this most definitely counts, sweetheart!

This little girl understands more than most adults do. While I believe that it is imperative and very beneficial to read, study, disect, meditate and analyze Scripture to grow in our faith, walk and understanding of God, I beleive that a lot of times our analyzing gets in the way of the true heart of the matter. As my husband has said before, too often, the most "intellectual" of minds have absolutely no faith in God because He cannot be explained. Faith is believing in the unseen.

LIFE IS A PUZZLE

After my first husband committed suicide, my life as I knew it literally ceased to exist. Everything that I knew, believed and lived shattered into a million pieces. It was at this point that God lovingly picked up one, single piece of my shattered, brokenness and placed it in the middle of His canvas, which is my life.

All of the shattered pieces of my former life are still there today. While it may not appear that way, the shattered, broken pieces have been lovingly healed and mended by the hands of The Master Who created me and loves me so dearly. Many, many pieces have been loving placed where they belong, and yet, many others still are in the process of mending and healing.

One thing that God showed me, after my husband died, was how yes, we are indeed created in the image of God. However, as humans, most everything we do is opposite of the way God does things. It is a strange concept, in one sense. Yet, it makes perfect sense as well.

An image is a reflection of an actual thing, not the thing itself. When you look in the mirror at yourself, it is the opposite of reality. Your right side appears to be the left side, and vice versa.

When you work a puzzle, what is the first thing that you do? You start with the outside pieces, and put the entire border together. At least, this is the way I do it, and this is the way I've seen most people work a puzzle.

God began to show me that my life is a puzzle in progress at the work of His loving hands.

YOUR WORD IS ALL YOU HAVE

There is nothing more in this world that I detest more than lying! I have seen the affects of lying in my life, personally. It literally almost destroyed me.

Unfortunately, by nature, I am a "sneaky, manipulative" person. It has taken me many years to be able to acknowledge this, but as Dr. Phil says, "You can't change what you don't acknowledge!"

While this is my nature, this is no longer the person I am. Many years ago, I was faced with the reality of what my lies were doing to myself. At this point I am not going to even talk about how it affected other people in my life- I think that is a given, and understood by most everyone who is reading this blog.

However, what most of us fail to realize is how our actions affect us. For every action there is a consequence, good or bad.

As a child, I was very "sneaky". Unfortunately, I was good enough at it that I got away with a lot of things that were dangerous. If I had not been so good at sneaking around, maybe I would have been caught at the harmless things as a child, and it would have taught me not to be so sneaky, and this may have prevented me from putting myself in so many dangerous situations. Many of these dangerous situations have harmed me, and some still have lasting affects on my life today.

Being sneaky goes hand-in-hand with lying. It is basically the opposite side of the same coin. While you may not be out-right lying about a situation, if you are not being completely truthful, or you are trying to hide things, you are being dishonest.

FREEDOM

"Braveheart"

Last night, I watched one of my all-time favorite movies. It's been a long while since I've watched it, but I happened to be flipping through the channels and saw it was on. What a perfect time in history for me to be reminded of the bravery of William Wallace.

Obviously, I am talking about the Mel Gibson movie, "Braveheart".

If you have never seen this movie, I definitely recommend it!

Though this is a "fictional representation" of history, it is based on the life of a real man in 13th Century Scotland. I won't give a synopsis of the movie here, because I do not want to ruin the movie if you have not seen it; and if you have seen it, you know the intricate beauty that it encompasses.

There are many, many aspects of this movie that draws me in. Number one, I love history. Number two, I am a hopeless romantic at heart. Number three, the fight for freedom is in my blood. I guess in reality, the number three reason should be my number one reason.

Without freedom, we are truly slaves. This seems to be a given, but it amazes me how this is not obvious to the masses. It's strangely eerie how so many aspects of this movie can be applied to current day affairs. Change the setting and the characters, and you have the exact same scenario today, in modern day America.

JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED

Today has been another long day.

I heard a news blurb today saying that Jared Lee Loughner's attorney's are trying to get his trial pushed back to the beginning of 2013. You have GOT to be kidding me! So he is allowed to traipse back and forth to court hearings, sneering at the survivors of his attack, no remorse whatsoever! America, what has happened to us?! Justice must be served in this attack! I pray that the legal system does not allow this to carry on that long!

On a much better note, I also read that Congresswoman Giffords may be able to attend the final shuttle launch of her husband, Mark Kelly. I pray that she is well enough to be able to attend! That truly would be a beautiful blessing!

Lord God, I pray Your continued blessings and healing on Congresswoman Giffords. Thank You for the miracle of her life and triumph. In this, Jared Lee Loughner DID NOT win!

I continue to pray for President Obama. I pray that he will seek Your ways and wisdom. I pray for this nation. We desperately need You, Jesus!

SADNESS AND ANGER

I am unapologetically pro-life. As a mom of five children who my husband and I CHOSE to adopt, we are living proof that every single life has a purpose and a reason.

If you have read my blog previously, you know that I am pretty much an "open book" and I pray that God will use my life experiences to help others. I cannot tell you the process to adopt is a walk in the park- in fact, it is quite the opposite. However, as with all things, anything worth having is worth fighting for.

I had a friend who told me a few weeks ago of a lady she knows who is going through a divorce. She found out she was pregnant, and wanted to find someone to adopt the baby because neither she nor her husband wanted the child since they are divorcing.

I have been praying that God would help me find someone- the perfect match- for this child. I know personally what it is like to long for a child so desperately that your heart literally aches. I also know the extreme joy of having your tiny baby placed in your arms, and the realization that God has indeed blessed you and answered your prayers to be a mother. I wanted to help someone else realize that dream.

WATCHING THE WORLD GO BY

I posted yesterday that ALL things ARE possible! I believe this. I KNOW this! But what I doubt is will thing change here in America- or the world, for that matter.

In my mortality, it is my strongest desire to see things turn around. The spiritual side of me knows that according to God's Word, we are heading down the road that has already been prophesied thousands of years ago.

Are we currently living in what many call the End of Days? I do not know. I honestly believe we are, but I do not know this without a doubt. For two thousand years, since Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected, Christians have believed "they" are the ones who are living in the Last Days. In reality, I guess we all are right. We just do not know when the actual end is.

The Bible says that in the Last Days the love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12) It saddens my heart to see this reality played out over and over every day in our society. What is even more sad is how many people who call themselves Christian show little or no love for the lost and dying world. Yes, I believe there is a time where God may reveal to you that you should not cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6)- meaning, if someone is not open and receptive to hear Truth, then do not beat a dead horse.

However, I believe we will be held accountable for each and every person that God placed in our life that we did not share the love of God with. No, you cannot force someone to believe or accept God's love, but you can- and should be kind and caring!

As I sit and watch the world go by- either in real life or online- my heart truly breaks at the snide and hateful remarks that are made about people that others do not agree with.  I will not say I have never been in this category myself- I know that I have. While I cannot give you a specific situation, I know I am human, and I know I can and have gotten caught up in the hatefulness that is so prevalent. I was wrong to be involved in this, and this is something I had to go before God about and seek His forgiveness. This, I believe, is exactly what God means in 2 Chronicles 7:14 when He says to humble ourselves and pray, repent, and turn from our wicked ways and He will heal our land. This applies to ALL of us!

I dread the upcoming election of 2012. Yes, I MOST DEFINITELY disagree with President Obama, what he stands for, most all of his decisions, and yes, I MOST DEFINITELY hope and pray he is not re-elected, I dread what comes in between now and the election.

As a Conservative, the Republican Party as it is today does not represent my values and beliefs. While I am a very strong Tea Party advocate, and I believe the Tea Party movement has done a lot to shake things up politically, I have my doubts that much will change. Even if President Obama is not re-elected.

As I watch the game begin for the campaigning, I see that it's the same old people who are stepping up to the plate. First, there is Mitt Romney, who ran in the last election. While he didn't make the primary, and was not the Republican candidate, he put his hat into the ring. He did not win. Then there's the speculations of who will also run. Newt Gingrich. Rudy Giuliani. Donald Trump. Sarah Palin. Michelle Bachman.

Herman Cain has also put his hat into the ring. I remember the CPAC he spoke at- I believe two years ago- was the first time I had ever heard of Herman Cain. I liked what I heard! I had been praying he would run for office, and he has stepped up. But what bothers me is how very few Conservatives have heard of him.

I think our ENTIRE election process needs to be revamped. Why is it that the primaries start, and before I, as a Texan gets to even vote in the primaries, some of the candidates may have already been knocked out of the race?

I also believe that in the election there should not be running mates. I think it should come down to whoever has made it in the last standing- all parties- and the one with the most votes is President, the one with the 2nd highest votes is the Vice President. This would provide more chance of bi-partisan, complete representation of We The People, and less back room deals. Oh, I forgot! The back room deals is what politics is all about!

I remember now why I hated politics for so long. So much of the time the "elite"- on ALL sides- do what they want and refuse to listen to the voice of The People. And they wonder why no one trusts them?!

Without a doubt for the most part the Republican Party is just the opposite side of the same coin as the Democrat Party.

What part of CUT THE SPENDING do you not understand, Washington? Yes, this is going to mean we have to sacrifice a few things! I think the best way to handle the budget is EVERYTHING on the table! Yes, even our defense! The way to do this while still keeping our country safe is to bring ALL of our troops home! Put ALL of our troops on the border of our country! Let the rest of the world fend for themselves! How in the world can we give money away when we are in such drastic debt? That would be like me having absolutely no money to take care of myself- borrowing money from an enemy of mine- and giving it to another enemy of mine. I still haven't helped myself in the situation; I now owe one enemy and have given help to another enemy. How in the world does this make any sense?

As a Christian I believe we are called to help others. But charity starts at home.

ALL of us are going to have to make sacrifices to get our budget under control. ALL of us! We have ALL benefited from feasting at the troughs of abundance and borrowing from future generations, now it's time to step back, be big boys and girls and take responsibility in this situation! I'm sorry that some of the government programs are going to have to be cut, but what we have done with all the government help is to create a bunch of entitled brats who do not want to work for what they need and want. And this applies to people of all ages! While the younger generations are the epitome of this, there are many people in their 30's, 40's and some even beyond who feel they are entitled to things just because they "want" them. No matter that they have not worked for it, so they can actually afford it!

I love helping people! It makes me feel amazing inside when I am able to help someone. But that is MY decision on WHO to help, WHEN I want to help. If I do not help someone, then I am the one who will pay the consequences when I stand before God. Yes, God calls us to help the poor, needy, orphans and widows. However, He DID NOT tell me to give to the government so the government could decide who gets that help!  I have PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY in stepping outside of my comfort zone, making choices and sacrifices, to help others in need. And yes, the greedy will have their day!

I blame the Church- the Body of Christ- for why we are where we are. In days past, before government assistance- the Church helped those in need. Now, the Church in large part has become nothing more than a social club with their hand out, all the while the community around them starves- not only spiritually, but physically as well.

I pray desperately for this nation! We have become so pampered to our amenities! We cry injustice if we do not have the latest and greatest inventions, the fastest Internet connection, the best of clothes. We are blessed beyond measure! We are wasting away in our blessings! God has given us our blessings! He can- and WILL- take them away! I pray that America will wake up before that happens! America, I plead with you- humble yourself before God! Turn from your wicked ways! Repent! Seek God's face! He WILL heal our land!

Yes, we are given the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Notice the words here. PURSUIT of happiness, not GUARANTEE of happiness! If you are given everything everything on a silver platter without having to work for it you do not appreciate it. I know from experience! But if I work hard for something, save my money, and go purchase that item, I value it. I take care of it. I cherish it. It will not be thrown by the wayside to collect dust.

I pray that we as a nation will step back and PRAY for each other! In this tragic shooting in Arizona I have heard very few people commit to actually PRAYING for ALL who have been affected by this tragedy. We are to pray for each other. We are to pray for our enemies! (Matthew 5:44) I absolutely DETEST what Jared Loughner did a little more than 2 weeks ago in Tuscon, but I continue to pray for him. I pray for his soul. I pray that God will soften his heart and call him to repent for his evil acts. I pray for his parents, Randy and Amy Loughner, that they will be able to forgive their son and love him unconditionally. I pray that God will give them peace, comfort, strength and safety to get through this as well.

I continually pray for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords TOTAL and COMPLETE recovery! I pray for her husband, Mark Kelly, that God will give him strength and resolve to get through this. I pray for their parents, extended family and friends, that they will all be surrounded by love. I pray that this nation- Conservatives AND Liberals, will stop blaming others for this horrible event. There is ONE PERSON responsible for this horrendous act of violence- the man that committed the acts- Jared Loughner. Period. I pray that this nation would come together, unite, and work together. It is what America is known for. But the real question is- have we, as a nation, strayed so far from god, that there is not enough love to unite us? Hate cannot unite us. Love unites us. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not rude or self-seeking.It is not easily angered and keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. TRUTH, America, not political spin, lies and accusations! Love always protects, hopes, perseveres- Love NEVER fails!

America- do you love your fellow Americans? Or are you so bent on being CORRECT and getting YOUR way that you cannot stand beside each other and unite in a time that is trying us as a nation? The world watches and sees our discord. It's time to put away the childish things and be adults! Faith, hope and love. The greatest of these things is love! Without love, we have nothing!  (1 Corinthians 13:3-13 reference)

I pray these things from my heavy heart in the Name of Jesus- Amen.

THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO

Jesus told His disciples in Mark 10:15 and Luke 18:17 that if we do not have faith as a little child, we will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

In Matthew 17:20 we are told that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains.

I've seen many miracles in my lifetime. There are things that I would have never imagined in my own life that have either already come true, have happened, or are coming true.

America has witnessed a miracle the first month of this new year. Tragedy struck- an event that Satan meant for evil, God is turning to good (Romans 8:28). Yes, there are still parts of the event that are tragic. Many lives have been forever changed. But if we allow God to work in our lives, He WILL turn the evil for good.

It is reported that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is now up and walking, and that she will be going to rehab tomorrow! All praise and glory and honor be to Jesus! This is truly a miracle! It is quite obvious that God is not done with Ms. Giffords yet, and has mighty things in store for her life. He tells us in Provers 29:11 that He has a plan for us.

Faith truly can move mountains. America, once again, I ask you to join me and humble yourself before God. Repent for your sins, so that He will heal our land. It's obvious what He can and will do if we have faith! This truly IS a miracle!

I continue to pray for Congresswoman Giffords complete recovery. I continue to pray for her husband, Mark Kelly, and their extended family and friends, as they start this new part of the journey of her recovery. I hate that this tragic event has happened, but I praise God that He has spared Ms. Giffords life, and is truly performing a miracle through her.

I continue to pray for the other shooting victims and their families. I pray for Randy and Amy Loughner, the parents of the attacker. I pray for the attacker himself- that God will humble and soften his heart. I pray that he will repent from the evil that he has caused.

I continue to pray for the family and friends of Connor Menning in Vermont. I pray that the students will seek out someone to talk to, rather than letting this event create overwhelming feelings inside of them that they cannot deal with. Faith. We must have faith in God Almighty, and He will move the mountains of our lives. He has moved MANY mountains in my life! Jesus has given me a new beginning from the ashes. My broken heart became brand new. For all these things, I am so very thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

America- THAT'S what faith can do!

FROM TRAGEDY TO MIRACLES

I heard on the news this morning that  Mark Kelly, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords husband, has spoken publicly for the first time. It warmed my heart to hear that he has said he would agree to meet with Amy and Randy Loughner, the parents of the man that shot his wife. He said that he does not hold them responsible for their son's actions. This news, along with yesterday's news that Congresswoman Giffords' medical status has been upgraded to serious from critical is great news during this time of tragedy.

Some will probably wonder why I believe it is good news to hear that Mr. Kelly does not hold them responsible for their son's actions. I believe that every step he and the family takes to forgive in this horrendous act is just more healing for them. I pray that someday he and the family, and Ms. Giffords as well, will be able to forgive the man himself, who did this. Forgiveness of him is not for the attacker, but for them- their healing and well-being.

I learned, unfortunately the hard way, that unforgiveness can cause you great harm. It turns into anger, which turns into bitterness if you do not deal with it.  Bitterness will destroy you. Forgiveness is not you- the one who has been hurt- not the one who has hurt you. I continue to pray for Congresswoman's Giffords, Mark Kelly, their family and friends. I also continue to pray for each person who was at the supermarket that horrible day. Those who were shot, I pray for complete and quick healing. I pray for all those who witness the attack. I pray for the first responders who were on the scene. I pray for the doctor's who are caring for all these people.

I pray that this tragedy will bring about more miracles in this country. Just as we see Mr. Kelly start the process with the family of the killer, I pray that the country will take notice and follow his example. So many are looking for answers. Who caused this? Why? We may never have the answer of why. Who caused this? Evil.  Jared Loughner CHOSE- personally- HIMSELF- to commit this horrible act. Nothing that was done to him caused this. There have been many millions of people who have had horrible, unspeakable things done to them, who have never hurt anyone else. Yes, I most definitely believe in the cycle of abuse. But I believe that ultimately it all comes down to an individual choice. I do not know whether or not there were any abuse done to Jared Loughner. The news has been conflicting on this aspect of the story. But I have also learned the hard way that what you hear on the news is not always the truth- no matter what source you get your news from.

I continue to pray for Jared Loughner. I heard this morning that some of the guards have said that his eyes are pure evil, still. They say he shows no signs of remorse. I pray for those who have contact with him, that God will protect them from the evil that obviously permeates from him. I pray for Jared, that he will be humbled, and surrender his life to God Almighty. I pray that he will repent of his sins, come to know Jesus Christ as his Savior.

I pray that my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus will join me in praying for Ms. Giffords, Mr. Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Loughner, and Mr. Loughner, as well as this nation. We must come to a place of humility before God, repent for our sins as a nation, so that God Almighty will heal our land.

As always, I pray these things in the precious Name of Jesus Christ- Amen.

IS THIS A BAD DREAM?

Each day that passes by perplexes me even more than the day before. It’s almost as if I am in a bad dream, and just cannot wake up!

Today I read that one of the victims from Saturday’s shooting blames Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck for the shooting. While I agree that this person has been through a major ordeal- major trauma- there is proof that this madman was not politically active.

I pray for Eric Fuller, the victim who gave an interview found here: Shooting Victim Blames Palin & Talk Radio  I pray that Mr. Fuller will let the facts speak for themselves.

When I got into a discussion on Twitter regarding this article, one comment made that we (on the “right”) are sick truly perplexed me. Yes, indeed, I am sick. My heart is very sick that this has swirled into the lies that it has. I am very sick and tired of the spin that comes along with everything that happens.

If I lived in this mentality, I would blame everyone around me for the things that have happened in my life. Instead, I am a survivor! I have pulled myself up by my boot-straps, have trusted in God, and have dealt with the things that have happened in my life without blaming others. Yes, I have had a lot of bad things happen in my life, but as the Casting Crowns song says, “I will praise Him in the storm!”   Casting Crowns Lyrics- "Praise You In The Storm"  

I praise God Almighty FOR the things that have happened in my life, because if it were not for these trials, which God has carried me through, I would not be here today. I am a strong survivor, not a victim, because I have stood up and faced the adversities that have come my way. It has not always been easy, and yes, there were many days that I wanted to point the finger of blame on others. I’m sure it would have been a lot easier. And in several of the cases I had ABSOLUTELY NO BLAME! I am a survivor of sexual assault. I am a survivor of sexual molestation. I am a survivor of VERY BAD choices in my life! THANKFULLY, I have grown up and matured. I have taken responsibility for the wrong decisions I’ve made. I have forgiven those who have hurt me. I have forgiven when there has been no earthly justice administered on my behalf in the court system.

I am in NO WAY blaming the victim, Mr. Fuller, or anyone else in this attack. I have said from the very beginning, as has most every Conservative that I’ve heard, that the ONLY person to blame is Jared Lee Loughner. Period. Not his parents. Not the school. Not the Left. Not the Right. Not the Tea Party. Not Sarah Palin. Not Glenn Beck. Not Keith Olberman. Not anyone except Jared.

We are always looking for answers- why? Who let him slip through the cracks? Well, in reality, I am beginning to believe that he is not crazy at all. After hearing from people who have known him for years I am beginning to believe he is a maniacal, evil man who plotted this violent act. I truly believe he is evil. But I still continue to pray for his soul. I pray that Jared will turn to God and repent for his horrible sins. Again, I re-iterate, I MOST DEFINITELY pray for justice- which in my eyes, the ONLY justice would be that he would be put to death- but it is my prayer that Jared will turn his life over to God. I must admit I highly doubt this will happen, but I do believe in miracles, and I will continue to pray for his mortal soul- for his eternal salvation. The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross was for the vilest of sinners. None of us are “good enough” without the covering of the blood of Jesus.

What has perplexed me even more in my conversation on Twitter is the response that I got after I sent the link to this blog saying that I had been praying every single day for all who have been affected by this evil man. I also pray daily for this nation to unite. The response was, “Thanks for the prayers. Please do also your best to prevent further tragedies. I wish really, Americans can come together.”

I am perplexed by this, because I just don’t understand how it is not fathomable that we Conservatives would actually pray for those we disagree politically with. I also do not understand how I, or other Conservatives, can be held responsible for preventing further tragedies, when the accusations from the Left are still being lashed out. Again, it has come out in the media that Jared was registered as an Independent, but he was on the Left, politically. My response? So? Just because he is on the Left does not mean that this is the REASON this attack happened! It seems to me from what I have gathered that he had a PERSONAL issues with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Was it because of the border issues? Was it because of health care? Was it because he knew her from Synagogue? Was it because he was obsessed with her? Was it because he just wanted attention? Was it because he just likes to push buttons? Was it because…..? Well, as you can imagine, I could go on forever, and we still would not have the definitive answer.

My request/prayer is that this gentleman that thanked me for my prayers and asked me to do my best to prevent further tragedies would do the exact same. Please stop encouraging your friends on the Left to place blame on those who disagree with you politically! I too, more than anything in this world, hope and pray and wish that America would come together.

In fact, there is someone that I worked very closely with in the last election cycle that I STRONGLY disagree with, in how they are addressing this tragedy. I do not believe the comments that have come forward are appropriate, healing or helpful in any way. This person is on the Right side of the aisle, obviously. I will tell them the exact same thing- this is not the time or place to be blaming those who have nothing to do with this tragedy. You can agree with or disagree with whoever you like. But if we truly are going to put our differences aside and unite as a nation we MUST stop the blame game! This is not healthy, and it is going to destroy our nation.

I am appalled that there are people who are wanting to use this tragedy as a way to pass more gun control laws. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is a 2^nd Amendment supporter. Mr. John Green, the father of Christina Taylor Green , the beautiful 9-year-old girl who was killed in this tragedy, said publicly that he does not want this tragedy to be used to restrict more of our freedoms.

Two of the people most affected by this tragedy. This would be a travesty to allow Jared Loughner to affect our history even more by this event being used to restrict our freedom and liberties.

In NO way do I advocate violence. However, I have the right to protect myself and my family if our lives are in danger, and I promise you I won’t hesitate for one second to do WHATEVER necessary to protect me and my family. I also do not advocate the verbal attacks- from the Left OR the Right. But by the same token I am not going to sit silently by and allow these attacks to go on. As Christians, we sat silent for too long. It started many years before I was old enough- or even born- to have a voice, but once I became old enough to vote, I still did not speak up on things I disagreed with as I should have. I took my freedom and liberty for granted. And I regret that. I will not make that mistake again.

The Left has the same exact rights that I do. They can speak their mind just as I can. However, the Left DOES NOT have the right to take away my rights because they do not agree with me. The attacks need to stop- PERIOD!

So yes- I pray for ALL who are affected! I pray today, as I do every day, for the complete, speedy and full recovery of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. I pray for John and Roxanna Green, the parents of Christina Taylor Green. As a parent, I cannot imagine the grief they are experiencing, though I have experienced similar tragedy. Losing a child must be much more excruciating than losing a spouse. Even though a violent act took my spouse, it was by his own hand. I cannot imagine what they are experiencing. I pray for their peace, comfort and forgiveness, and yes, still, I agree wholeheartedly with John Green. The death penalty is the ONLY justice for Jared Loughner!

I pray for each person that was shot on Saturday. I pray for their complete and speedy recovery physically, mentally and emotionally. I pray for the families and friends of each person that witnessed this horrible tragedy. I pray that they will be able to heal and forgive. And I pray desperately that we, as a nation, can come together and stop this craziness!

As I do each day, I invite each American to join me and humble yourself before God Almighty. I’ve done many horrible things in my life, but God has forgiven me. His grace and mercy is beyond comprehension! I invite you to experience His love, mercy, grace and salvation as I have.  Repent of your sins, America. God Almighty WILL heal our land! If we do not repent, and turn from our wicked ways, this is just the beginning of our sorrows.

STEP OUT OF THE ABYSS

As the country continues to swirl in the abyss of accusations and lies, so few people are actually speaking the truth that cuts to the very heart of this tragedy that has struck our nation. In fact, I do not believe that I have heard anyone truly speak to the heart- the true source- of Loughner’s attack on so many lives.

The answer is found in The Bible, in Ephesians 6:10-20

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Ephesians 6:10-20

Sadly, American has moved so far away from depending on God Almighty. The reason I named this prayer blog, “Humble Yourself And Pray” is because, as I posted in my original prayer, I strongly believe God WILL heal our land IF we, as a nation, humble ourselves and pray- as a nation!

Despite what President Obama has stated in the past, America is STILL a Christian nation! While I will sadly concede that so many of the citizens of this nation which was founded by Divine Providence have turned their backs on God Almighty, no one can take away the fact that America IS a Christian nation! This country was FOUNDED on JUDEO-CHRISTIAN values and principles. Period.  You can’t change history, no matter how bad many people would like to and try to. History is history. You can’t go back and re-do it, no matter how hard you try. Oh yes, you may try to re-write history, but re-writing it does not CHANGE the truth of what has happened.

Truth is truth is truth. No matter what.

So- what is truth? Or, should I say, WHO Is Truth?

For Christians, that is simple. Jesus Christ Is Truth. “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

So, what is the truth in this situation? Whose fault is it?

I have heard several people actually put mortal blame where it belongs- on the shooter- Jared Lee Loughner. But the true culprit of what or who caused this tragedy is evil. Evil forces caused this tragedy.

It has been publicized that this madman is an atheist. As with everyone, God created him with free will. God does not force Loughner to believe in Him. But his belief- or rather, his dis-belief in God- does not make it true. God is real. Period. Truth.

We as a nation are not fighting against the flesh and blood of Jared Lee Loughner. We, as a nation- as Christians- are fighting a spiritual battle. We are fighting against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

So how do we fight a battle when we cannot actually lay eyes on our enemy?

We are given specific instructions in the above Scripture- Ephesians 6:10-20. Daily- HOURLY- MINUTE BY MINUTE, if necessary- we MUST put on the FULL Armor of God to stand against these evil forces. As mere humans we are not equipped to fight this battle. But for Christ followers,  we have ALL Power in our authority through the Name of Jesus Christ. On our own, we are powerless. Calling upon the Name of Christ Jesus and arming ourselves with His armor we are ALL Powerful! But, it is ONLY by His Name alone!

Have you ever studied the Armor of God?

The Belt of Truth- You MUST know Truth- Jesus- And He Must surround you
Breastplate of Righteousness- Your heart must be righteous- not wishing for revenge, not seeking evil.
        “Vengeance is mine”, says The Lord! (Hebrews 10:30)<there is a difference between vengeance and
           justice.>
Feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace- Peace, not chaos
Shield of Faith- Believing in Someone- God- Who you cannot see (Hebrews 11:1)
Helmet of Salvation- Salvation comes ONLY through accepting Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and repenting of your sins. ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
Sword of the Spirit- which is the Word of God
Prayer

Do you notice that in all the Armor God gives us, we only have one OFFENSIVE  weapon? The SWORD of the Spirit- which is The Word of God- Scripture- is our ONLY OFFENSIVE weapon! ALL other parts of our Armor from God is DEFENSIVE!

Even in prayer, you are being DEFENSIVE. You must act, to actually pray, but the power of your prayers are through the power of Jesus Christ, Who Is The Word of God, which is the Sword of The Spirit.

While I have heard many people speak to prayer for those who were shot and impacted by this violent act, I have heard very few, if anyone publicly call for prayer for the Loughner family- or Jared Loughner himself.

While many will be appalled that I would say this, let me go back to the original purpose of this blog. Healing for our land- our nation.

Yes, most definitely, by all mean, I pray, will continue to daily pray, and ask others to join me in prayer for those who have been personally impacted by the deaths and injuries caused by this madman.  But this madman needs prayer too, as does his family.

Let me make something else perfectly clear. In praying for the families of those who have been killed or injured in this senseless attack, I also pray for justice to be done. And yes, for me, personally, I believe that true justice would be the death penalty for Jared Loughner. He took many lives that day. There are consequences for our actions. But God created Jared just as He created you and I. So in my prayers, I pray for Jared Loughner’s repentance. For his soul. For comfort for his family and friends. For peace for him and his family.

God Almighty, I continue to pray for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, for her speedy recovery and complete healing. I pray for her family and friends, that they are comforted in this difficult time. I pray that they will turn to You for peace and comfort. I pray for the families of those people who were killed in this senseless act of violence. I pray for those who are still in the hospital. Heal their bodies, their hearts, and their memories. I pray for the families and friends of all who have been directly affected by this tragedy. I pray that all who are effected can forgive the madman that committed these horrible acts, even as I pray for justice for his actions. Last, but not least, I pray for this nation. Lord God, I pray that America will humble herself before You, repent from her sins, so You will heal our land. I stand in the gap for this nation, Father God. In the precious Name of Your Holy Son Jesus- Amen.

RIGHTEOUS VINDICATION

Someone sent a tweet out last night, quoting Psalm 35:24, and said to read the entire chapter of Psalm 35. I re-tweeted the message, as it spoke volumes to me. I have been dwelling on this Scripture overnight, and it is still on my heart this morning.

As I read the chapter this morning, I read and feel David’s anguish as he cries out to God to vindicate him.

The person who sent the tweet last night labeled it with hash tags to include all political parties, and rounded it out with #WeThePeople. This person gets it! This is a person that I would love to get to know better! It seems to me that this person has the same heart that I have. They are praying for this ENTIRE nation, not just “their” party affiliates, and those who believe and feel the way that they do.

I still believe with everything in me that this nation is in the place we are because of our own doing. We have failed to fall before the throne, beseeching God in our prayers, seeking His face for HIS will in our government, our homes, and our personal lives.

Today, I continue to pray for Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords full and speedy recovery. I pray for her family, the family of U.S. District Judge John Roll, the family of beautiful little Christina Taylor Green, the family of Dorwin Stoddard, the family of George and Dorothy Morris, the family of Gabe Zimmerman, the family of Phyllis Schneck, and lastly, Father God, I pray for Jared Loughner, the man that massacred these people. Yes, I pray for justice, in this horrible massacre, but I also pray for this mans soul. I pray for his family. I pray for righteous vindication in this horrible tragedy. I pray for this nation. I pray for our leaders. I pray for We The People of this nation- of ALL political party affiliations, that the blaming and power grabbing tactics will stop. I pray that we, as a nation, will humble ourselves before God Almighty, repent and turn from our wicked ways. This is the ONLY way our nation will be healed.

I will continue to stand up and fight for what is right. I do not mean the “right leanings” of politics, I mean what is good, and true and right according to God’s Word! (“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.”  Philippians 4:8)

Obviously, my political affiliation is the “right”. However, in NO WAY do I believe that the “traditional right”- the Republican Party- is correct in all that they do and say. In fact, I believe that one of the main reasons for the moral decline in this country is because the CONSERVATIVE Party abandoned its core values and principles.

However, as a Bible believer, I believe that God has given EVERY one of us a CHOICE. We all have FREE WILL! He does not MAKE us believe in Him or accept His free gift of Salvation. He gives us a choice.

This country was founded by Divine Providence. You can argue with me if you would like, but you will never change my belief that the Divine hand of God Almighty was directly involved in the founding of The United States of America.

In the same way that God gives us a choice in our personal salvation, He gives us- this nation- a choice. We have always had a choice. When we rely on Him, trust in Him and seek His will, He will guide us.

I have no doubt that our Founding Fathers sought the face of God when they were writing our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and other sacred documents that define our country. Yes, these are very sacred documents. I do not worship these documents, as it has been suggested by some politician, but I do most definitely respect these documents and believe they are defining cornerstones of what makes this nation great. I do most certainly believe in the exceptionalism of The United States of America, and I will not apologize for that.

Do I believe that personally I am better than anyone else in this world because I am an American? This is not AT ALL what I mean! We are all created by the hand of God Almighty. We were each created for a specific purpose. And we were each created in the time we are in, for such a time as this.

There have been many “such a time as this” in history. We can look back through the pages of our history and see many great leaders who have stood up in their time in history. There are some that I do believe were “before their time”, but by this I do not mean that they came at the wrong time in history. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of these people in history that I believe was “before his time”. I believe he saw a vision of what the future should be, and stood up and fought to make that vision a reality. There were many who felt threatened by his vision, and sought to destroy him. In fact, they thought they succeeded in destroying him when he was assassinated. In reality, his voice has just become louder and stronger over the years since his death. They killed his body, but they did not kill his soul. They did not kill his legacy. They did not kill his message. They did not kill his fight.

There are many people throughout history that the same thing can be said of.

In going back to the Scripture in Psalm, I am reminded of another man who stood up for what was right, and his voice was silenced. He was the son of the King. Jonathon was the son of King Saul, David’s mortal enemy. Yet Jonathon defied his father to stand up for what was right. Things did not turn out all rosey and wonderful for Jonathon. He lost his life in battle just as his father did, because God had ordained David to be King of Israel, not Jonathon, as Saul wanted.

I pray that my resolve in life will be a mixture of David and Jonathon. I pray that I will continually stand up for what is right, and fight for what is right. But I pray that when it is obvious that my life is not going to be spared because of my faith in God, I will still stand strong, fighting and believe in what is right, according to God’s Word, no matter if it means I will lose my earthly life. I know that for me, as a Christ follower, to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

As the hand of time slowly ticks by, and my years pass by quicker and quicker, I regret that I did not stand up as I am now. I cannot blame those who came before me for doing the exact same thing that I have done. I have been complacent most of my life. I have been born into privilege. Oh, I am by no means wealthy, according to the worlds standards. In fact, as a child, my family probably would have been classified as quite poor. However, I was rich even then, because I was born into a family who truly loves and supports each other. I was raised with values and morals. Oh, yes, my parents made their mistakes, just as everyone does. But I know that they raised me with morals and values.

But as I said, I have been complacent with the values I have been raised with. I took it for granted that these values are the values that everyone has. When I realized that this was not true, I still did not realize the importance of shining the light on what was right. Instead, I was complacent still, not realizing that it would eventually effect me.

Now, my complacency is gone. I am doing as the old Petra song says- I am getting on my knees and fighting for the values of this nation! No, I am not a man- I am a woman, but I am on my knees fighting like (as) a (wo)man of God.

Will you join me, America? We all have a choice. God does not force us to come before Him. Oh yes, one day, EVERY knee will bow before Him (Philippians 2:9-11). But each of us still has a choice. Are we going to continue to blame each other? Or are we going to go before God, seek His face, His will, and hold our leaders accountable for their actions that are not our values? Holding our leaders accountable comes by the ballot box, not violence! I am by no means saying that I will stand idly by, with my head in the sand, and not physically fight if that is what it comes to.  But I pray, oh how I pray with desperation that this country will not become another war zone, physically fighting for the freedoms that are so precious to us as a nation. Wars have been fought in our nations history for the freedoms we enjoy today. Many lives have been given, many drops of blood have been shed, and many tears have fallen to ensure us the freedom we so take for granted today! If it becomes necessary, yes, I will lay down my life, if that is what it takes, to fight for the freedom of this great nation. Many have paid the price for my freedom, and I will stand and take their place to fight for the freedom of my children and grand-children.

Today, God Almighty, I pray the words that David prayed to you in Psalm 35. I pray this prayer for this great nation, Lord God. Those in leadership and government that mean to destroy this nation, I pray that You will righteously vindicate those of us who call You Lord and praise Your Name.

“Contend for me, my God and Lord.
Vindicate me in your righteousness, LORD my God May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.
May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.”
My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.”

SENSELESS TRAGEDY

Yesterday- Saturday, January 8, 2011- was yet another day of senseless tragedy in our country. I have sat in front of the TV almost continually since I read of the massacre online and turned on the TV to see what was going on.

I got on Twitter to see what was being said, and was furious to see that accusations were coming out before anyone knew the details of what is going on. Many of the "left-leaning" blogs, talk-show hosts, and even some Democrat political leaders were blaming the Tea Party for the assault.

Interestingly enough, once the information came out regarding the person who committed this massacre against innocent people, we find out that he is the furthest thing from a Tea Party member. Yet, we have not heard any apologies from those who accused the Tea Party of being involved.

My husband summed it up for me when I said this person was a liberal. He corrected me, saying, “No, I would not say he is a liberal. He is in that small, but weird, unclassified group where the far right and far left overlap.”

I’ve mulled this thought over for a bit, and have decided that he is correct.

As I’ve sat here over the last 30 hours or so trying to process all of this, prayed for Congressman Giffords and all who have been effected by this senseless massacre, watched the left play the blame game, watched some from the right play the blame game, my heart just could not take it anymore. I knew what I must do.

The last tweet I sent out seems to have fallen on deaf ears (or blind eyes, if you will).  My last tweet before I started working on this blog was this:

“America- this is an opportunity to heed God Almighty's Words in 2 Chronicles 7:14- humble ourselves and PRAY instead of blaming.”

I put the computer down, and walked away for a while. As I thought about this more and more, I sensed in my spirit that God was telling me to take a long look at what I had just sent out. I knew what He was calling me to do.

And so, this blog is born.

America- we MUST wake up! God Almighty is the ONLY answer for our country!

As a proud Tea Party Patriot, I am now considered a “Right Wing Extremist” by the government.

Our country is reaching a boiling point. We are seeing incidents of the boiling over in scattered incidences across the nation. The left blames the right. The right blames the left. The reality is we are ALL to blame for what is going on! We as a nation have turned our back on Almighty God. We as a nation do not go to our knees in prayer to seek God Almighty’s will in our lives.

The moral character of our country has diminished to almost nothing. And yet, we wonder why we are at the point we are as a nation. We have children bringing guns to school and killing their classmates, teachers and administrators.

We have not held our leaders accountable for their actions and we have allowed things to slip to a tipping point. Our president appoints leaders and goes around our Constitution. But the problem did not start with the current president. If we had held ALL of our leaders accountable for ALL of their actions through the years, we would have set a precedence as a nation that we, as citizens, demand more from our leaders, we would not have reached this point.

Things are not going to change overnight. And things will NOT change unless we obey the Words of God Almighty- we MUST humble ourselves and pray! We MUST repent for the wicked ways of this country. God Almighty WILL heal our lands, if we obey Him.

If we do not obey Him, this is only the beginning of a very tumultuous time in our nation’s history.

So this blog will be my humble prayers before God Almighty. I ask that if you are reading this, you search your heart. I ask that you will commit to praying for this nation and our leaders. Pray for God to forgive you where you have been wrong.

I am not saying to not stand up for what is right. In fact, it is quite the opposite. We MUST stand up for what is right, or wrong will take over! But first and foremost we must be humble and PERSONALLY go before God Almighty and pray for this nation!
